Note that, in our section of Math 60, you are not required to purchase the online "WebAssign" support materials (or "access code"). But if you end up getting the WebAssign package anyway, and you want to access its support materials, see this link.
You can purchase our course textbook at the college bookstore. If you do, it will likely be the "custom-published for City College of San Francisco" printing of the text (which may have a different cover than other versions, and not explicitly indicate that it's the 5th edition). If you buy the book else, make sure it's the 5th edition.
If buying textbooks is a significant financial burden, look into the free CCSF Student Bookloan Program.
Students should obtain their textbook and have it available for study starting on the first day of classes.
If you don't have a textbook by the first day of class, there are a number of copies of the textbook on 2-hour (or more) reserve in the college library (e.g. so you can access and read the book while waiting for delivery of a text purchased online).
We'll be covering much of Chapters 1-9 of the course text.
The list of homework assignments below will be periodically updated as the semester proceeds. Homework will typically be collected on the first day of each week (Mondays, unless there's a holiday). On any given Monday, only the sections that we've finished discussing in class during the proceeding week the will be collected.
Remember to read the entire section of the text before attempting the homework. After reading the section, work the given exercises and neatly write up step-by-step solutions.
