Magnificent Hummingbird (Eugenes fulgens spectabilis) female
27 January 2009, Savegre Mountain Hotel, San Gerardo de Dota, Costa Rica
Same details as previous. This is the female which is mostly gray on the
underparts. A little dusky mottling on the chin is shining golden-yellow
on this individual.
This is the only hummingbird in the genus Eugenes but some authorities
merge it with the Brilliants in the genus Heliodoxa.
