The course content of CNIT 132 ONLINE is contained on the Web, in an interface called Canvas. Canvas
is the standard interface for all online courses that are offered at City College of San Francisco.
In order to access the course content, you MUST be officially registered in the course.
The syllabus for CNIT 132 ONLINE is restricted to only those students officially enrolled in the class, but here are the course objectives and major goal.
1. Code intermediate level HTML5 and CSS for producing Web Pages.
2. Upload Web Pages to the CCSF hills server.
3. Create Web Pages that display the following:
- A well designed Home Page.
- Cascading style sheets.
- Tables.
- Banners, backgrounds, thumbnail images, and dynamic text.
- Animation, audio, video files, and iFrames.
- Client-side imagemaps.
- Forms.
- Form processing utilizing php.
- Javascript.
The major goal of CNIT 132 is the creation of a variety of
intermediate level Web Pages. You should already have created a homepage and perhaps a small website, from your CNIT 131 class, a similar course, or from your own experience.
You can use your homepage as a starting point for this class.
In addition, you should already have a fairly good understanding of basic HTML.
You will need to upload all of your web pages to the City College Web Server, hills.ccsf.edu.
Alternatively, with my permission, you can upload your web pages to another Web Server.
You should create your Web Pages using a text editor, notepad, pico, or an HTML Editor.
Your class purpose should be a thorough understanding of intermediate level HTML
and you should hand code ALL of your web pages.
This is an online course and thus, you will not have the benefit
of classroom instruction. But you will have access through email to the instructor,
the teaching assistant, and other students in the class. Also, there is a class chatroom
and discussion lists where questions, comments, and answers can be posted. So, a student in
this class can look forward to a solid support network.
