Important information about CCSF online courses:

Online courses provide an invaluable service and are an important part of the whole college overall because they provide access to education for people who cannot get to campus, whether because of jobs or transportation or distance or childcare or disability or schedule problems. Our online classes also provide an easy way to meet prerequisites for students who already have the basic knowledge or who are very self-disciplined and can learn easily from written material.

Online courses are not for everybody. It will not be easy for students who think it will be easy, or for people who have trouble with time management, or for students who need a detailed lecture and lots of hands-on time. Although we do offer on-campus labs and study groups and we are available by email to answer questions, it is more difficult to explain things in an online class. Therefore, students who register for online classes should know in advance that there are these limitations, and that there may be technical difficulties. However, we are proud to offer these sections as a viable alternative.
