The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk

Dolles Famous Salt Water Taffy at Center of BoardwalkThis one-mile wooden walkway runs parallel to the beach and is perhaps the town's most famous attraction. Built in 1905, it is the center of activity for merchants and visitors. It was destroyed by storms in 1914, 1962, 1992 and 1998 and rebuilt each time. Shorter versions of the boardwalk were thought to have existed in the late-1890s. Unlike the only California boardwalk located in Santa Cruz, California spanning just a few blocks, the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk spans a full mile along Delaware's "Grand Strand." You can sit on a bench and enjoy a slice of Grotto's Pizza made famous at the Delaware resort town and just watch the sun worshipers. Or you can grab a large bucket of Thrasher's French Fries made famous by the recipe of deep frying in peanut oil, lightly salting them, and sprinkling a generous amount of malt vinegar to top off this delightful classic snack. Add the wonderful sound of the seagulls in the air, the crashing waves, and the wonderful texture of beachside sounds coming from the many shops along the boardwalk, and there you are, in a beach bum's heaven! However, there are rules to be followed while enjoying yourself at Rehoboth's boardwalk. Here are the current rules and regulations for the boardwalk.:
