DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE COURSE SOME TOUCHING AND PHYSICAL CONTACT MAY OCCUR. IF YOU FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT THIS DISCUSS IT WITH THE INSTRUCTOR.
ENROLLMENT IN THE CLASS IS THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY. THE STUDENT MUST NOTIFY THE REGISTRAR OF ANY AND ALL CHANGES OF ENROLLMENT.
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ARRIVE AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASS; ADMISSION IS GRANTED BEFORE LECTURE AND AFTER BREAKS, TO PREVENT DISRUPTION, WAIT FOR A BREAK BEFORE ENTERING. THE COLLEGE AND DEPARTMENT REQUIRE ATTENDANCE AT ALL CLASSES. ATTENDANCE INCLUDES BOTH LECTURE AND LABORATORY PORTIONS OF THE CLASS. A STUDENT WHO EXCEEDS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ABSENCES WILL BE DROPPED FROM THE CLASS. LATE ENROLLMENT IS PERMITTED ONLY AFTER COMPLETION OF THE DEPARTMENT'S LATE ENROLLMENT FORM.
THIS IS A COLLEGE CLASS. IT IS EXPECTED THAT YOU WILL NEED TO DEVOTE 2 - 3 HOURS OUTSIDE OF CLASS FOR EVERY HOUR IN CLASS, FOR AN AVERAGE GRADE. FOR A BETTER GRADE, IT IS EXPECTED THAT YOU NEED TO DEVOTE MORE TIME. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU TAKE NO OTHER COURSES CONCURRENTLY.
GRADES WILL BASED UPON THE FOLLOWING POINT SYSTEM:
| Quizzes | 5 X 100 | 500 | ________ | .....Total....... | _______ |
| Labs | 15 x 10 | 150 | . | 900 - 1000 | A |

CLASS RECORDS
Note: This class notebook is your grade documentations. The scores on returned work should be entered into your tally sheet. If your tally dose not match the instructors, you need to present the original work in your notebook, with the original score on it, to the instructor to document the discrepancy.
THIS COURSE UTILIZES A VARIETY OF INSTRUCTIONAL PARADIGMS. YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO FORM STUDY GROUPS AND TO WORK COOPERATIVELY WITH YOUR LAB PARTNERS. TEAM-WORK IS ENCOURAGED AND IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU BE A TEAM PLAYER.
YOU MUST ATTEND AND PARTICIPATE IN THE WHOLE LABORATORY EXERCISE IN ORDER TO HAVE YOUR NOTEBOOK SIGNED OF AND TO BE ELIGIBLE TO SUBMIT A LAB REPORT! EACH OF YOU MUST TURN IN YOUR OWN COPY OF EACH ASSIGNMENT.
YOU SHOULD INCLUDE THE NAMES OF YOUR PARTNERS UNDER YOUR NAME AT THE TOP OF THE PAPER; ONLY THE TOP NAME WILL BE CREDITED FOR EACH AND ANY PAPER TURNED IN. ANY PAPER THAT DOES NOT CONTAIN A HANDWRITTEN SCORE IN YOUR CLASS RECORD BOOK HAS NOT BEEN CREDITED TO YOUR POINT COUNT!(This procedure is required to ensure that you have the graded assignment in your RECORD book, as per Class Notebook protocol.)
LABEL AND COLOR ALL DIAGRAMS BEFORE SUBMISSION - ALL PAPERS/EXERCISES ARE ONLY EVALUATED ONCE. The last chance to turn in assignments or other work is the second before last meeting. All work will be returned the meeting before the final. To obtain a final you must turn-in your up-to-date notebook and record book, with tally sheet. You are not eligible to obtain a copy of the final until you have completed this requirement.
CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED -
EXAMS, QUIZZES, AND FINAL, ARE AN INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY!
CHEATING WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF THE EXAM AND POINTS FOR THE EXAM!
BOOKS ARE TO BE LEFT CLOSED AND OFF THE TABLE DURING ALL OF THE EXAMS -
"DRY" LAB REPORTS ARE NOT PERMITTED,
Quizzes will cover all of the material since the previous quiz. The final will
be cumulative and comprehensive.
Note: Due to the nature of the course and time constraints there will be NO MAKE UP EXAMS! The lowest exam score will be dropped. This allows you one missed exam. Exams start at the beginning of class -- plan ahead, do not be late, you will not receive extra time -- Summer school is tightly choreographed, if you plan to take the course, plan ahead, allow extra time in the morning before class, if you arrive early, you can meet with your study group for coffee in the cafeteria.
