In 1939, Johnson completed his largest figures, two east Indian-inspired Incas seated on Llamas for the Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island. These two eight-foot-high cast stone figures were displayed around the fountain in San Francisco architect Timothy Pfleuger's Court of the Pacifica.
