Design/Pattern Drafting – Spring 2010

Methods and techniques of clothing construction used to meet students’ individual needs.  Covers basic sewing and flat pattern drafting, and design   through composing test draping designs on mannequins.  Demonstrations of draping techniques that summarize the basics of garment assembly and finishing.

 

This is a noncredit class.  It is open to all students at all skill levels. Instructor will joyfully assist student in his/her own unique project.

  • Vogue V1004 Misses’ Fitting Shell sizes 6–22, basic sloper
  • Vogue V1003 Misses’ Fitting Shell sizes 6–22, basic pant
  • Vogue V8536 Misses Top Vogue Basic for stretch knits

 

Materials:

  • A good 3 yards of “draping” muslin.
  • Gingham - 45 inches wide
  • Use your imagination!
