The class will consist of biweekly sessions emphasizing and utilizing yoga asanas, salutations, vinyasas, centering, breathing (pranayama), opening chakras, progressive relaxation, massage and other grounding and/or
stress reduction techniques to promote health and well-being. Various styles and practices of Yoga will be taught and practiced.

Written Assignment 20%
Letter grade or credit/no credit option is available. Submit an application to admissions and records by the deadline in order to take the class credit/no credit.

0-2 absences no effect on grade
3-4 absences grade lowered one
5-6 absences grade lowered two
7-8 absences grade lowered three
More then 8 absences failing grade
- Absences should be made up within the mid-term period in which they occur.
- Makeups will consist of verified attendance in another fitness class with the instructor's permission. Makeup forms are available at the north gym lobby counter.
- Videos and written assignments are available as an option to make up missed class time if attendance in another Physical education class is not possible.
Class Requirement
- Comfortable and loose workout clothes.
- Written assignment is due December 10 (MW) or December 11 (TR), 2001. The paper will be a selection of at least eight (8) asanas designed and arranged into a yoga
session which suits the students preferred style of yoga.
