Bauhaus - Dessau
Klee and Kandinsky held a free painting class in Dessau. Half of all Klee's 10,000 works were produced during his 10 years teaching at Bauhaus.
In March 1925 the Dessau Local Council decided to take over the Bauhaus in Weimar. After some hesitation, Klee decided to keep his teaching post at the Bauhaus. Klee and Wassily Kandinsky now held a free painting class in Dessau.
In July 1925 the Brunswick businessman and collector Otto Ralfs founded the Klee Society, which secured the artist a monthly additional income from purchases of art work right up until the late 1930s. During the term holidays he travelled extensively to Italy, Porquerolles, Corsica, Brittany, the Basque Country, and Egypt thanks to financial support from the Klee Society.
In 1931 Klee was offered a position at the Dusseldorf Academy.
