Tunisia

At the age of 35 in 1914 Klee visited Tunisia on the Mediterranean coast. By Klee's own admission this was a turning point in his career:

"Color has taken possesion of me; no longer do I have to chase after it, I know it has hold of me forever. That is the significance of this blessed moment. Color and I are one, I am a painter."

Klee had his next major turning point at Schloss Suresnes.
