- Job Values: desire for specific intrinsic or extrinsic rewards. Values determine general satisfaction. Often change between teen and early careerhood. May change thereafter.
- Interests: types of tasks that are enjoyed. Interests determine satisfaction with job duties.

- Job Qualifications: knowledge and skills needed to qualify as a candidate for a position.
